Participate in the development of new platforms primarily for mobility and self-driving car markets (100%)

  • Actively interact with several members of the engineering group (optics, opto-mechanics, electronics, testing and validation, systems, software, microelectronics, etc.) to develop technology platforms
  • Participate in the design of prototypes and new products
  • Plan and carry out measurement setup (optical, electronic and mechanical tests)
  • Assemble and functionally test the main subsets and critical components of the sensors
  • Assemble the first sensor prototypes to perform system characterization tests to support designers
  • Verify the performance and accuracy of the data provided by the sensors according to the expected technical specifications
  • Use various characterization equipment for optical sensors with many electronic components: optical assembly, component alignment (lasers, lenses, detectors, etc.), power meter, spectrum analyzer, camera, multimeter, oscilloscope, environmental chamber, etc.
  • Contribute to problem solving and make design changes to optimize performance
  • Contribute to the implementation of manufacturing and assembly processes in a high-tech environment
  • Write data reports and presentations as required
  • Maintain R&D equipment and laboratories
  • Provide technical support to all stakeholders involved in the projects
  • Participate in writing and implementing quality assurance procedures for their work
  • Perform all other tasks compatible with your position

The ideal candidate for this position will have 

  • DCS in Electronic, Physical or Robotics Engineering Technology
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the field of sensors involving electronics and/or opto-mechanics and/or optics or high-tech product design
  • Experience in the electronic, optical and opto-mechanical laboratory with management of complex equipment and a keen interest in practical laboratory work
  • Advanced skills in electronics
  • Circuit board design skills (Altium)
  • Programming skills (Asset)
  • Computer-aided design (CAD/Solidwork) (Asset)
  • Good computer skills in the Office Suite: Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Oral and written English and French language skills required
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility in the face of frequent operational changes
  • Must have a customer service approach toward others
